"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light within."

Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
The Counseling Process

Whether you are new to counseling or have been in counseling previously, it is important to know what you can expect from your therapist and the counseling process. As your therapist, I will try to help you with problem solving, your personal growth as an individual and interpersonal relationships. This is done by active listening, by helping you communicate openly and honestly, and by providing a safe, trusting environment by which you can share openly. Although your counselor will help examine consequences, it is your right and responsibility to make your own decisions.

Confidentiality

While almost everything that occurs in counseling remains confidential between the therapist and the client there are a few exceptions where the counselor is ethically bound to report a client's verbalization of harm to self or harm to others. These exceptions will be discussed during the initial counseling session.

Appointments

Therapy sessions last approximately 50 minutes. Payment is expected at the time of the service. Clients must cancel their appointments 24hrs in advance or they will be charged the full amount of the session.
